Its convenient location makes it easily accessible from Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua. Sanur has recently undergone upgrades, making the boarding process more efficient and organized. The journey from Sanur to Nusa Penida or Lembongan typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on weather and sea conditions.
Padang Bai Port, located in East Bali, is the main hub for travelers heading to the Gili Islands and Lombok. This port is ideal for those staying in Ubud, Candidasa, or Sidemen. The ferry ride from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, or Gili Meno usually takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Ferries also operate routes from Padang Bai to Bangsal and Senggigi in Lombok. Since this port gets quite busy during high season, it’s advisable to arrive early.
Another option is Serangan Port, situated near Benoa in South Bali. This port offers a more premium and quieter departure experience for travelers heading to the Gili Islands and Lombok. The journey from Serangan generally takes about two to two and a half hours, and it’s favored by those looking for a more comfortable and less crowded alternative to Padang Bai.
